Polynucleotides

A next-generation regenerative treatment that supports hydration, skin repair and renewal from within — a favourite for tired under-eyes, crepey skin and overall skin quality.

If you want genuinely healthier, stronger, more radiant skin — not just a temporary fix — polynucleotides are one of the most exciting regenerative treatments available today.

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are highly purified regenerative molecules derived from natural DNA fragments. Rather than adding volume like a traditional filler, they work at a cellular level to repair and revitalise your skin — kick-starting your body's own natural renewal processes.

They've quickly become one of the most sought-after treatments in aesthetics because they improve the underlying health and quality of the skin, not just its appearance. The results look completely natural, because they come from your own skin doing what it does best — repairing itself.

How do they work?

Once gently introduced into the skin, polynucleotides stimulate the activity of fibroblasts — the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. At the same time they deeply hydrate, calm inflammation and improve the skin's ability to protect and repair itself.

The effect is gradual and cumulative: over the weeks following your course, skin becomes firmer, smoother, better hydrated and more luminous — with improvements that continue to develop over several months.

What can polynucleotides treat?

  • Tired, dark or hollow under-eyes and fine crêpey eye-area skin
  • Dull, dehydrated or "tired-looking" skin that's lost its glow
  • Early fine lines and loss of firmness or elasticity
  • Uneven texture and overall skin quality on the face and neck
  • Skin that needs strengthening and repair rather than volume

Where can it be treated?

Polynucleotides are especially loved for the delicate under-eye area, where few other treatments are as effective or as safe. They're also used across the face and neck to restore overall skin quality, firmness and glow. At your consultation, Lorraine will recommend the right brand and area for your skin and goals.

Which polynucleotide is right for me?

Several excellent options are available — you don't need to choose, Lorraine will match the right one to your skin, but here's a plain-English guide:

For the eyes

  • Original Lumi Eyes — a great-value starting point for tired under-eyes.
  • Vitaran Eye — for the fastest visible improvement.
  • Mastelli Plinest Eye — the softest option, with the least swelling.
  • Nucleofill Eyes — for glow, hydration and elasticity.
  • Ameela Eyes — the strongest for collagen, ideal for more mature skin.

For the face & neck

  • Plinest — premium and gentle, lovely for sensitive or thinner skin.
  • Vitaran — the popular all-rounder.
  • Nucleofill Strong/25 — for mature skin, laxity and neck crêpiness.
  • Ameela — the strongest, for more advanced signs of ageing.

Polynucleotides FAQ

Are polynucleotides the same as filler?+

No. Fillers add volume; polynucleotides regenerate. They improve the skin's own quality, hydration and firmness by stimulating repair, rather than plumping an area with gel. They're often used alongside other treatments for a complete result.

How many sessions will I need?+

Most people have a short course of 2–3 sessions spaced a few weeks apart, then top-ups to maintain results. Lorraine will recommend a plan tailored to your skin at your free consultation.

Is there much downtime?+

Very little. You may notice minor redness or small bumps at the injection points that usually settle within a day or two. Most people carry on with their day as normal.

Are they safe for the under-eye area?+

Yes — polynucleotides are particularly well suited to the delicate under-eye area, which is one of the main reasons they've become so popular. As with all treatments, safety comes from careful assessment and technique, which is why every treatment starts with a consultation.

When will I see results?+

Hydration and glow can be visible early, but the real regenerative benefits build gradually over the weeks and months following your course as new collagen develops.
